Για τις 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2022 είναι προγραμματισμένη η εκδήλωση The Game Awards 2022, από την οποία θα αναδειχθούν τα κορυφαία παιχνίδια της χρονιάς που ολοκληρώνεται σε μερικές εβδομάδες, ενώ αναμένεται ότι θα γίνουν και σημαντικές αποκαλύψεις για νέους τίτλους.
Ο διοργανωτής και παρουσιαστής της εκδήλωσης, Geoff Keighley, αποκάλυψε τις υποψηφιότητες για όλες τις κατηγορίες και η αλήθεια είναι ότι στην περίπτωση του Game of the Year δεν έχουμε κάποια σοβαρή παράλειψη. Από εκεί και πέρα, ήταν αναμενόμενες οι πολλές υποψηφιότητες για το Elden Ring και το God of War Ragnarok, τα οποία λογικά θα κονταροχτυπηθούν για τον τίτλο, εκτός αν γίνει η έκπληξη από το A Plague Tale: Requiem…
